Fees and Insurance
All payments are due in full at the time of service. We accept cash, cashier's check, most major credit cards, PayPal, and health savings accounts, flex-spending accounts.
Will you file my health insurance for me?
Yes! We will be happy to file an insurance claim for you.
Do you accept my health insurance?
House Call Chiropractors is an out-of-network provider for all major insurances with the exception of Medicare. What does that mean for you? For non-Medicare patients, after you have received and paid for your care, your insurance will be sent a claim form detailing the services that were provided. Within weeks, your insurance company will then send you an “Explanation of Benefits” detailing which services your policy covers and provide YOU with a check payment for all covered services.
Why are you not an in-network provider for my insurance policy?
Being out-of-network only providers allows us to keep our pricing reasonable and our payment process simple. It allows the doctor to decide what is in the best interest of the patient instead of the insurance company. Insurance policies vary widely in coverage of services, deductible amounts, copay amounts, and network policies and procedures. By collecting payment in full at the time of service, there is never misunderstanding between the doctor and the patient about the cost of the service and no looming doctors bills to worry about showing up in the mail. The high quality of care is the same regardless of whether you do not have insurance, you have limited insurance, or you have a large group policy with additional flex spending accounts.
What if I have been involved in a motor vehicle accident?
You should check with your vehicle insurer as to whether you have “Medpay” benefits on your policy. “Medpay” is a policy benefit that provides payment for medical care after a motor vehicle accident, regardless of fault. If you were not at fault, you will need to contact the liability insurer as well (the insurer of the person at fault). Once you have obtained a claim number from your vehicle insurer and the liability insurer, we will be happy to send claim forms of our services, so you can be reimbursed.
What if I have a workers’ compensation injury?
You should always file an incident report with your employer first. In California, once you file a claim your employer is required to provide you with medical care. If you have already notified your employer, in writing before you were injured, you are allowed to predesignate your personal physician or medical group for the work-related injury. To predesignate House Call Chiropractors you must complete the Dept of Workers Compensation form found here BEFORE your injury and file it with your employer. For more information on predesignating a physician, visit the California Department of Industrial Relations website or click here to see their Injured Workers Guidebook.
What if I miss my scheduled appointment?
At House Call Chiropractors, we respect you by providing quality care at the scheduled appointment time and for the full duration of the appointment. Thus, we ask you to please cancel or reschedule your appointment 24 hours in advance, or we will bill you for the allotted time that could have been used to treat another patient. If you are late for your appointment, we will still need to end the appointment on time in order to respect our other patients’ time.
